Here's a lovely little roll of 35mm film (Colour Negative 100) that's been sitting in my La Sardina for a while. The double exposures look pretty rad and the 100 film has produced some sharp results, slightly saturating some of the colours. I'm happy. Enjoy x
Last month I did a ten day tour of the North Island with all my favourite people... surfing, sailing, and summiting mountains. I didn't keep anything in the way of a diary because I was too busy being a tour guide by day and being merry by night. But I did take one million photos, so this blog … Continue reading North Island road trip
Last month, spring arrived in Auckland and all that sweet vitamin D beaming down from the sky inspired me to attempt the 'photo per day' challenge on my La Sardina. Unfortunately, spring showers prevailed and grey days don't get me reaching for the camera, so that project faded out pretty quickly. Instead I decided to use the roll … Continue reading Bathing in the purple rain.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to do one of these and unfortunately I don’t really have time to write all that much but here are some pretty pictures! Auckland is sticky and humid but still c'est magnifique! The last few months have been eventful with summer vacays, moving house, finally getting … Continue reading Summer loving.
My trusty La Sardina has been papping her way around New Zealand for the last few months and here are the results.
Funny old weather we’re having. One minute its summer and the heat from my red glowing legs is giving me a hot flush. The next minute I look out the window and it looks like someone is pouring a bucket of water over Auckland. Like the Crowded House song goes, Four Seasons in One Day … Continue reading Moonscapes and mountains
All hallows eve. That one night of the year when the spirits rise from the dead and once again walk the earth...*evil laugh*. It's a rather unspooky 31 October in Auckland. The orange fallen leaves and darkening nights are nowhere to be seen, instead replaced with warm evenings and baby lambs skipping around fields. Not that I'm … Continue reading Spring breaks
We've just passed the six month mark of our Kiwi adventures, which seems like as good a time as any to reflect on the highs and the lows of life on this isolated little island. Highlights 1. Celestial wonderment: So I finally made it to the South Island last month for a casual spot of skiing … Continue reading Six months later…
As Auckland persists with its drizzly cold days, I'm kicking myself for the bad timing of our trip, writing this post from the depths of winter number two (under the safety of my duck down duvet). I'm bypassing Facebook for fear of seeing all those bronzed Brits lapping up the heatwave...only to be secretly relieved when I … Continue reading A beginners guide to skiing
It's been a while since I've done one of these and nothing remarkable (apart from the wonder of life) has happened since our Bay of Islands getaway - although I have just returned from a cheeky business trip to my old friend Sydney - so its fitting that I used up the film in my … Continue reading Analog love in Auckland
