My last roll of film ended up being a bit of a shrine to my family – and what a fine looking pair they are! These lot were captured on the LomoChrome Purple 35mm, which I’ve used a couple of times but with questionable success. It’s not my favourite type of film but every now and then the stars seem to align and I end up with a couple of beautiful shots (in this film I’m pretty happy with the one of Matt with his board, and the one of Lola looking face on into the camera tilting her head).
I spent a lot of time rambling around the local bush with my La Sardina, swooning over all the spring flora and fauna that was coming into bloom. I didn’t attempt too many double exposures as I find the LomoChrome Purple too dark and you end up with a shadowy splotch.
Matt has spent most of spring making a surfboard and skate ramp, and I’ve been fan girling him behind the camera, sneaking photos of him in action.
Now that summer has arrived with a hot and humid bang, I’ll be spending lots more time behind the lens, experimenting with some trippy double exposures, and maybe some more purple hues. Let’s hope santa fills my stocking with 35mm!
